True Story!

When I had my "work out" with the DEtroit Tigers, before BP I asked a young man in Tigers uniform to bring me a bat.

Years later, I learned his name Al Kaline. "he looked so young". He was 18 years old and the rest is History!

Wow consultant, I would just like to say thank you for posting here! I feel very fortunate to be able to read your great stories and sharing your pearls.

2022NYC;

Thank you for your kind words. As I am now in a "lock down" at home I reflect on another story regarding Mr. Bob Gibson and my "turn at bat"!

In the Basin League, Bob Gibson played for Chamberlain as a College junior. I played for Watertown with 3 former MLB players [Ron Perranoski, Dick Howser and Howie Bedell]

"at my 1st AB I could NOT see the ball. It was a "blur". I did hear the sound "wisp"!

Listening, I "stuck" the bat where the sound was the strongest and "thank you lord" the ball hit my bat and landed 350' over the right field fence. Normally I hit to Left center.

"True Story"

Bob
