Keeping it classy, nice work.

BacDorSlider, I have always respected your insights and your kid's abilities but you pushed the envelope way too far on here.  I have always thought most guys on here may not agree but never fully disrespected each other. That was beyond the lines for this message board.

Has nothing to do with my kid's abilities.... call it what you like, I said it , I meant it and I stand by it.  If I could let you in on some information you most likely don't know.

You guys bitch moan and complain about a whistler because he annoys you ?   The fact is Vanderbilt annoys you because the B10 cannot, has not and will be able to compete year in and year out on a consistence basis.  You want to know why? Because you are in Michigan Ohio, Ill, Wisconsin etc... and baseball is a warm weather sport.

As for the NCAA , ESPN , TD park and the whistlers,  you guys think you know so much about, there are actually 5-6 whistler's

When you go to the CWS and sit in the family section, you are sitting under 2-3 mics that are there on purpose to get the family responses , to make the crowd seem louder etc..... they purposely sit the whistler's  under those mics knowing it is going to be loud, knowing that the broadcasters will talk about it. They are building the story so they can talk about it...… they want you to complain, its just another storyline...…

My issue has nothing to do with Big Ten versus SEC. taking shots at the Big Ten is nothing but SEC arrogance.  You can’t be happy with being champion. You have to rub it in another conference’s face.

Team preference has everything to do with any team who sends Vanderbilt packing because of an incredibly obnoxious fan. ESPN can place microphones anywhere they want. It’s to add normal crowd noise to the broadcast. Placing it in the team fan sections is going to be the loudest area. It still doesn’t give one fan the right to be bleep’n obnoxious. He’s not normal. He’s a sick individual in need of attention.

I will always root against Vanderbilt not to progress in the tournament as long as the whistler is going to make broadcasts insufferable and unwatchable. I turned off game two when it was 1-0 when the whistler started in. I didn’t watch game three other than to check in for the score. I couldn’t watch for just one minute without that jackass making noise.

I guarantee ESPN and CWSOmaha will be prepared to deal with him and other future jackasses before next season. Hopefully Vanderbilt won’t be in Omaha.

I’ve known kids who played for Vanderbilt. i used to root for Vanderbilt. Not any more. I don’t recollect hearing the clown in the past.

I have a suggestion where ESPN can place the microphone to muffle the sound.

I'm SEC born and bred.  I rooted for Vanderbilt and for your kid to do well.  But the whistler is an absolute pestilence to all but Vandy fans, and I suspect that in their heart-of-hearts, they too know that he is.

Brother, what you said was blowing your cool and it was out of line.   You alone are responsible for it.

Again, I said it..... most importantly at the time I meant it... was it uncalled for probably so... I'm human I make mistakes.

Personally I do not like the constant whistling , I don't mind it at certain times.  BUT it does not fall under creating a distraction, a fight, being drunk etc... Where do you draw the line?   Next time someone will be clapping too loud,  yelling too often.

I get sick and tired of hearing about the whistlers , the fact that Vandy cheats and gives all the players free money and scholarships...

This Vandy team was the most successful team in schools history... was it the most talented ?  I don't think so....

But since the opening of the new park in 2011 Corbin as been to the CWS 4 of 8 years, been in the finals, 3 of the 8 years and won it 2 of the 8 years.. 16 wins in that period most of any coach.

Going down the stretch this team was 36-4 in their last 40 games, beat every team in the SEC at least once, beat Louisville 3 times  Miss St. twice , played three teams in the regional that all won their conference tourney....  I could go on about how my top 25 RPI teams they beat but being 59-12 they beat everyone.

Won the SEC regular, SEC tourney and the CWS …..

Come on, backdoor, we're adults now.  This strained slippery-sloap stuff is not for people of our age and rational ability.    We all know that any people group has a right and privilege to say, "that's acceptable, but that is not acceptable" based upon what we see and experience, and not solely upon whether we can make a formal syllogism to deliniate differences in some scientific manner.   One supreme court justice said, "I can't define pornography, but I know it when I see it."   Everybody knows insufferably obnoxious when they hear it.

I sat in front of the whistler preacher Wednesday night.... right in front.... it was loud... He asked me if I minded, I said what about just whistling to start a crowd chant and not the entire game.  he agreed he would. BUT believe me ESPN, the NCAA, TD Ameritrade park know exactly where the whistler and the mics are. They are talking out both sides of their respective mouths.

Bacdorslider, has nothing to do with conference for me. South Carolina fan here since I took my first breath. I respect what Vandy baseball is and has accomplished, but the whistlers are beyond annoying. I am on both the free and premium SC boards, nobody takes up for him, EVER. In fact, they all want to punch him in the mouth. It's different than the Miss St cowbells, that's a tradition shared by a whole fanbase. The whistlers are a very small group of jackwagons who's only purpose is to annoy people, pure and simple. Someday, somewhere, there's going to be a good ol boy SEC redneck that will get a belly full of it and do something that will be applauded by every other SEC school fanbase. It has nothing to do with conference, jealousy, or anything of that nature. Nobody likes it outside of Vandy fans, and I'd suspect that it's annoying to at least half of them if the truth was known.

I have no debate about the SEC versus other conferences.  There is no doubt it is the best overall conference in baseball and typically proves it in the CWS most years.  Huge advantage in recruiting given the weather and the stadiums, but the fans support those teams like crazy and deserve nice stadiums and workout facilities.

The irony about Vandy and the whistlers is that certainly in most areas of the country, Vandy is thought of as a high academic university with an excellent alumni reputation.  It just seems so out of place to be associated with such a village idiot.  Yet now the better the baseball team is, the more people associate Vandy baseball as the school with the clown whistler.  It is hard to imagine there are many Vandy alumni that want the school and baseball program to be known for the whistler rather than talk about the great players.  However, the guy got more publicity this CWS than just about anyone of the team save for Bleday and Rocker.  Sad that it has come to that level, but if the Vandy fans support the guy, he is just going to keep becoming more famous and the team and school more hated.  He is the LaVar Ball of baseball fans.
