If you have not started your junior year at a service academy, you can resign your commission and leave without having to pay it back or with no penalty.  Once you start junior year you have repay the amount and/or they can hold you to your service time requirement.

You can head over to the  D1Baseball transfer tracker and see how many have transfered "up". LSU made a huge haul of top prospects this past summer.

Last transfer is from Air Force. He states it was done for a better draft opportunity.
