God bless him - there must be millions of people who couldn't wait to settle in on a cold winter's night to watch the winter Olympics with Jim McKay! I remember my mom letting us stay up until way after midnight on a school night to watch the finals of the downhill skiing, or the women's figure skating. And who could forget Wide World of Sports - the original ESPN. We winced every time that guy flipped and tumbled off the ski jump ramp!
