I second that idea....I would LOVE to see your article on this subject. As an added thought, my neice (who is now in remission), battled leukemia from the age of 2-7. I keep thinking how something as "simple" as this idea would have been a Godsend not only for her....but also for her parents! I'm sure little Joe's ENTIRE family will get a spiritual and emotional uplift from this project.
"Prayer ministry gives boy sick with cancer much-needed 'buzz'
---------------------------------------------------------------

This is a prayer request for a nine year old little boy who has cancer.

He began his chemotherapy on Christmas Eve after the diagnosis.

I have never met the boy. I don’t know if he has green eyes or even if he has brown hair, or if he’s a blonde.

I wonder if he has freckles and if he has a dog. I wonder if he loves little league baseball or if he can run like the wind.

I have never seen his smile or tucked him into bed at night. And yet, I wonder what his favorite cereal is for breakfast.

I wonder how many trees he’s climbed or if he likes to go fishing.

I wonder if he’s getting to attend school on a regular basis or is he too sick to leave the house.

I think of him and wonder about so many things in his life and worry about his future.

But, there’s one thing I will not wonder about….and that is, whether or not he knows that people are praying for his recovery.

You can be a part of this ministry for little Joe by making a phone call.

Here’s what you need to do. Just dial this telephone number, its toll free - 1-877-546-0248.

Immediately, you will hear a recording telling you to input a number. Then input the numbers 733 and the pound key.

This will send a message to a pager. It’s Joe’s pager and it will vibrate.

And don’t forget to say your prayer for him while dialing his pager; this way every time the pager vibrates he will know there is someone who is praying just for him.

Isn’t this a wonderful ministry? And we can all be a part of it today.

I can only imagine what an awesome blessing this must be for a little boy every time he gets a buzz.

And what a blessing for us to know that we are showing him God's love in such a quick way!

So, please take a minute out of your day to say a prayer for Joe William Sheffield, a little boy in Georgia.

I am convinced that it will mean a lot to him and will help keep his spirits up; every time he gets a "beep."

And do pass this number around to your friends so Joe can keep receiving prayers all throughout the day.

Prayer pagers are a way that concerned people can let someone in need know that they are praying for them.

When the individual dials the toll-free number a message will tell them what number to enter to send the "prayer message."

The person with the pager will then receive a page, letting them know that someone is praying just for them.

How can your church or organization implement the Prayer Pager Ministry? It is actually very simple! Set up an account with a local pager company.

Decide how many pagers you want to have and lease or purchase the units.

Some of these pagers should be local, some state-wide, perhaps even nation-wide, depending on where the pager recipient is going for treatment. (Each pager will, of course, be assigned a different number.)

A personalized message will instruct the caller to press the numbers necessary to send the message to the recipient.

Why not start a prayer ministry in your church today!

It could become the new "buzz" in prayer ministry and it’s so easy, especially since most of us are great at using the telephone and we can always use the practice in saying some prayers.

So, please remember Joe and pray for him today. He will be delighted, because just this week he received a good report from his doctor.

But he still needs a complete healing!

okay...here's what our local residents woke up with ...I hope Joe got buzzed all day.
