Coppell 8 Arl. Lamar 5

R H E
Coppell 8 7 2
Arl. Lamar 5 6 7

Individual Pitching / Hitting
2B--COP: Austin Elkins 1. COP: Greg Higginbotham 1. LAM: Ben Walker 1.
HR--COP: Andy Pratt 1. LAM: Chris Arocha 1.
Sv--Michael Apple
WP--Danny Malone
LP--Kyle Arnsberg

This one looked easy earlier for Coppell but Lamar battled back and Arocha hit a grand slam to bring Lamar back to be down just 1 at 6-5 after three. Michael Apple came in with three innings of scoreless relief to close the door but Lamar did have the bases loaded in the 6th on 2 hit batters and error in the outfield but couldn't score. Lamar had 7 errors in the field and Coppell made each one count. Andy Pratt hade a nice HR to left for Coppell.

Congrats on the Cowboys win. I just wished Lamar would have played without all the errors. I think the game would have been an even better game. You are right, Coppell made Lamar pay for making the errors but I think we can agree that it was a much closer game than even the score indicates. I think it hurt us to take 5 or 6 third called strikes looking especially when we had the bases loaded. Oh well, hope we can give you guys a better game tomorrow night at your place.

Lamar Fan, at first I thought the home plate umpire just could not decide what a strike was or wasn't and that caused problems for both the hitters and pitchers...on both sides....but then when Apple came in and threw strikes the umpire had no problem calling strikes that were strikes. As far as the errors I would have loved to seen cleaner play from both sides then I think the game would have been a better example of what these two teams are capable of playing. Like you said we can only hope for that tomorrow.

By the way you have great fans especially Arnie's mom...go DBAT!!!!

I thought the umpire did a nice job. He looked pretty consistent in his calls. He didn't like to call high curve balls but he would call low pitches a little wide (both ways). He even seemed to raise and lower the strike zone based on the height of the batter... something many don't seem to do.
