Coach V,

I agree with your three choices -- the PE kids saw the Coppell youngsters several times this fall and the guys have faced Cain many times in the summer. P-son also had the chance to get to know Colten as a teammate on a few occasions -- he has a bright future. I believe Walsh will learn behind a UH signee this spring -- and the other Coppell fish will have a tough time breaking into a stout Cowboy lineup -- that team is loaded. (Not sure if the kids will play V or JV.)

My initial reaction was more of a deju vu -- as it opened quite a can of worms last year. Thank goodness few ask for the list of top sophomores! clever-man2.gif

PE has a freshman catcher that has a promising future -- Logan Reneaux (that spelling may be completely off...if so, sorry dad).

Keller has a freshman stud by the name of Jordan Stafford, younger brother of Keller's #1. As with the Coppell kids, don't know if he has a chance at Varsity because of the logjam there, but watch for some great things from this kid in the years to come. Kid can stroke the ball and plays a very good SS.

He can also pitch, and there is some anticipation to see whether next year we will have a Stafford/Stafford rotation.
PD,
My reaction as well. Just yesterday I was going over past threads and reading some I was involved in last year and this thread was one of the more interesting chat ones I was involved in and think I had something to do with the direction it went in with a simple congrats to a certain Freshman Player (would be yours)...............

oh the good old days.........

Can't name any Freshman standouts from these parts yet, only time/innings will tell. We have soooooo many players to choose from it will be interesting. What is the saying the Creme will always rise to the top...........

My son has played with and against Logan Reneau over the years ... he is a good kid...he was also an excellent football player in his PFL days...is he still playing football or is he baseball only now?

There's several very good freshman:

Colton Cain is #1 by far at this point; a man among boys right now.

Corry Brooks at Dallas Christian
Kettler & Walsh are good
Jacob Morris Flower Mound
Chase Watts Midlt.
Daniel Jordan Wylie 3rd baseman

Other Good ones that may be Var. But cert. JV starters:

Catfish Elkins Coppell
Luke Halpin Mesquite
Bradley Stone Poteet
Cory Graham Poteet
Blake Rockwall (brother was good also)

Just about every player that played major that were on teams that won pretty regularly will be JV to Var pushing the upper classman. Tigers, Marshalls, Team Texas, Rattlers, Blue Jays, ET Lighting, ET Hurricanes. All solid programs with good players up and down the line up.
A few names to follow in the class of '09:

A big, hard-throwing LHP from Mansfield Summit named Chuck Sumheat.

Another big-hitting lefty from Boswell named Hugh Krushum.

A lightning fast OF from Colleyville Heritage who can really cover some ground and is a good baserunner named Manny Canfly.

Finally, a stud SS from Fort Worth Brewer who is a real vacuum named Troy D. Leather.

Watch these kids this year make some hay for their teams... Wink
I know I'm new to the message board, but who are these guys y'all are hot on? The Dallas Yankees is stacked deep and beat everybody...not just Texas teams and not one of their kids is mentioned here. Micha Easterling(Guyer), Matt Dean(The Colony), Brandon Mims(Cedar Hill) and Cody King (Richland) are all tough. Their catcher, Micha, is 6'2/195 and can through you out at second from his knees. Maybe y'all just haven't seen them play...Maybe you're just promoting you own. Acknowledge them or not, but these boys will be major player for the next four years and beyond.
The Yankees did not fare well at the Elite 24 perhaps because they were exhausted from flying all night from Colorado where they beat EVERYONE in winning the Triple Crown World Series. Look at their season as a whole-not one event. If you know baseball then that is like basing a kid's performance on one at-bat or one game. They had a very successful season capped by an off week. Be fair.
