My sons 17U Team is enrolled in the following Tournaments this summer. I would greatly appreciate your opinions and advice regarding them. If there are some that are "Don't Miss" because of the exposure the kids get or that you believe to be less chance of exposure please let me know because he may not be able to play the entire schedule and I would like to be able to make an informed decision on which (if any) to miss.

Break Out The Lumber Aberdeen, Md
Super 17/18u Invitational Diamond Nation, NJ
Temple University Philadelphia, Pa
18u WWBA National Championships Marietta, Georgia
New Era Cap Classic Buffalo, NY
Impact World Series UNC Chapel Hill, NC
USA Labor Day Cup Cary, NC
Florida WWBA Qualifier Fort Myers, Fla

Thanks

LOL!! Okay wiseguy, even I know the WWBA Tournament is an important place to play LOL. I just copied and pasted the entire schedule so you guys could see where they were playing and offer advice on which to miss if I can't get him to all of them.
Also his organization is sending a team to the 17/18U Blue Chip Prospects Tournament at Diamond Nation. he's not currently scheduled to be on that roster, is this Tournament worth it to talk to the Coach about including him, if possible. The Coach is a Great guy, very approachable and wouldn't mind discussing it and saying "No" if he didn't want "Speed" in that particular Tournament.

If it helps any, "Speed's" goal is to play close to home in or around NJ. Probably no more than 3 hours away, so he can come home for the ocassional Weekend for Mom's Home Cooking and Laundry!

Thanks for the advice.

Absolutely worth it, but why are they not playing in the 17u class?

They are sending one group to the 18U and then to the New Era Cap Classic in Buffalo immediately following. A different Group is going to 17U and will not be playing in Buffalo as they overlap.

There are two individual showcase your son should also do ... SelectFest and Atlantic 100. He will need a coach and scout reference for the SelectFest appplication.

I could not agree more, having had my son attend SelectFest. Check out selectfestbaseball.org for information on the schools that where there last year, as well as the list of kids who committed and the schools they committed to. Very impressive, and was one of the best regional showcases in the Northeast.

The Super 17/18 tournament at Diamond Nation was also real good for my son 2 years ago, but it may have been because the start of the tournament was the same night as the Area Code tryouts in Allentown, PA. A lot of the same scouts made the 30 mile trip from Allentown to Flemington, NJ, and my son was able to be seen in both a showcase environment and as a starting pitcher in the same day. it helped a bit that he performed well in both Big Grin
