Congratulations to Coach David Kopp on his move to the staff of the Florida Gators, where he rejoins his former college pitching coach, Kevin O'Sullivan!!

This has to be a terrific career move for Dave, and the Gators are very fortunate to have him added to their staff. The following link announcing the move does a great job of detailing his distinguished career as both a player and a coach.

This has to be a dream come true for TPM and family.  Dave can be closer to home and do the work I believe he was intend to do.  His record as a coach says it all.  His record as a player is icing on the cake.  For most of us who have been able to follow his career path, this comes as no surprise since his hard work has always paid off for him.  (And his proud family.)  Congratulations TPM and Dave.

Time flies. Remember when TPM stood for Tiger Paw Mom. Now she’s a Gator Mom.

True story. When Sully was waiting for an answer from Dave about  committing to Clemson or UF, he called me. I told him not to worry, that I would never put on a Gator shirt!  LoL

So when he called me last week to say welcome to the Gator Family, I said remember what I told you many years ago?  We laughed, then I cried.

We are so happy, Dave has worked hard to prove himself worthy of this opportunity.  He also has beaten Sully on occasion over the past 4 years!!  He got called for a few opportunities, one as pcoach for an ACC program, but it just wasn't a good fit.

I wasn't going to post here about the decision yet, but it did go public yesterday.  Thank you Prepster aka Clayton Woodard, dad to Robert Woodard.  Your friendship to me is like gold, and an example of what this site is about.

For those curious about Dave's role.  I think it's pretty obvious, he is being prepared to eventually step into the role of Pitching Coach. He has done a great job in 5 years but there is still much to learn.

Thank you everyone.

Freaking awesome! Ryley loved his time with Dave who helped him a lot as a Fr who got a chance to contribute and was dealing with an injury. Ryley is already giving back with the Mets org mentoring younger arms and doing his best to help them develop good habits.

Btw, as of May via PG Rankings...the #2 ranked prospect (C) in Texas' Mom is a personal friend from HS. She went to school with my wife and I. That Arrambide kid can play.

Again, congrats to David and TPM.  The Gators are getting a high energy intelligent guy who played and coached  at every level.   Coaches make a difference!

PS...2021 was not a good year for Gator Nation and Sully.  I'm looking forward to the 2022 Las Vegas CWS pre-season odds coming out.  I got a hunch Florida is going to do extremely well.
