I am aware of what the "book " says but each school has a tendency to do things differently--there is no assurance of scholarship money unless they have already told you it was there for you.

There is no NCAA rule that would prevent a baseball program from offering athletic scholarship money to a transfer student-athlete, from an NAIA member institution.

As TR stated it will vary from program to program.

I'm not even sure that an NAIA student-athlete would need a release, from his NAIA school in order to be able to transfer to an NCAA program. NAIA rules are not "binding" on an NCAA program and vice versa.

When you inquire into the NCAA institution, the AD will send/fax a form to the NAIA school asking such questions as whether you participated on the team, did you receive athletic related $, are you in good academic standing, etc. It is proper and normal procedure.
