What is the NCAA rules regarding transfers from D1 to D1
D1 to D2
D1 to D3 and/ or NAIA or JC
Do you need the release from the school in all these cases.

you need a release in all situations...I can speak to DI to DIII, a release is needed, no eligibility is lost, and you do not have to sit out.
