Travel Baseball Announcement

The Melrose Indians are excited to announce the formation of 3 additional travel teams to start in 2008. The teams will be 13U, 12U, and 11U. There will be a FREE open tryout on Sunday October 28th from 12:00-4:00 at Blackhawk Park in Des Plaines.

We have worked long and hard to develop our program and have the type of reputation we have in regards to provide a warm place to play and truly caring about each player. We are looking forward to taking what we have built and instilling it in a younger group of kids

I just wanted to remind everyone our tryout is this Sunday! We have gotten a lot of responses and we are looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday

Many parents were very refreshed to hear that our focus will be on development and training. We are really looking forward to impacting these youths the same way we have impacted college players for 20 years.

We are looking forward to getting started!!!

Johnny,
Hang around awhile and you'll find out that this is much more than "just" a HS baseball site. Discussions range anywhere from LL to MLB.

And to answer your question, probably not every youth travel program, but a bunch. I don't see how making an announcement to get the word out among the baseball community could possibly be a problem.

Free open tryouts… with the focus on training and development… what’s not to love… well done coach. I wish you guys were around 10 years ago.

Thank you very much for your support and feedback...we are very excited about this!

Thanks for noticing this was just an announcement we were excited about! We have had a lot of great years with the college team and we look forward to continued success with that but we just thought it was time to expand with a lot of guys wanting to get involved in developing and impacting players at this age

I just wanted to give a quick update

The Melrose Indians Travelers have offically started! We had our first weekly team practice and it went very well. The excitement level of the kids and the parents is amazing and we are so excited to get going.

We have team trainings every Sunday at Play Ball USA if you are ever around please free to stop in. We are very proud to be focusing on player development and training all winter and we would love to have people come observe.

This is something we are very proud of and we are looking forward to another branch of the Indians!
