And what a fine list of young men there. This is the feeder program I've posted about before that I've worked with in the winters to build the program at Triad. Some of these players will go to different schools but many will go to Triad. Also, at least one other team has placed at a recent national tournament.

bballdad1954, since I'm close to this situation, I'll ask the other moderator to decide if this should stay or go.

Firsttimer, how is the son doing at Arkansas? Firsttimer is not new to this site and has a son who played at a high level in HS and is now playing at Arkansas. He's a great kid as well.

FirstTimer, it is amazing how people can ***** and moan about the travel teams in the Chicagoland and yet, be upset about a 12 year old thread. I understand the age issue but... I've asked MN Mom to view the thread and then, if it is inappropriate she can take it down.

Tell Mike congratulations on a fine job. It would have been neat to stick around and see the benefits of that program since the majority of them that I worked with are just now getting to the high school. Then again, I'll get the enjoyment of watching them play anyway.

Take care,

Darrell

Coach he is ready to get back to school. Will be going back to a new coach. Spent the summer in Duluth, MN playing in the Northwoods League. Had a great experience there. He has become an outfielder, all those years playing infield - the experts say - not an infielder - he is an outfielder! Boy is that a different view! He is happy to just be playing though. He is going to watch the Triad Middle School team today at 4 - if you aren't doing anything, maybe you can catch a game!

bballdad1954, I apologize!
FirstTimer,

I don't see any problem with your post, and would like to offer my congratulations to the team, and the players you listed.

I guess I can understand some members having a concern about travel/youth discussions crowding out HS baseball discussions, but in my book you are very welcome to post this end-of-season good news about these young HS-players-to-be.

Best wishes,

Julie
Thank you everyone - now that I don't get to see my own son play very much - it is fun to be able to go back to this age and watch a local team doing so well.

Unlike a lot of select teams, all of these boys except one will be in school together!

P.S. I considered posting this on the pre-high school thread, but thought since it was IL kids that it was better suited here.

Lori
