I set up a decent pitching showcase last year and would like to continue to build it up. It is free and cuts out the "extras" at most showcases. The pitcher will show up, stretch, warm up and pitch when their turn comes up. No sprints, etc.
I am looking for the best grade 10 and 11 pitchers across the state. I am looking for legitimate college prospects as I have to sell the event to college coaches and I don't have the luxury of taking everyone. I guess that means a consistent 81+ as a minimum. (open to discussion here though)
SO, I have been watching in Class L with the games we play and talking to coaches- but I would like to include the best pitchers in those classes regardless of division. Please post a name here and I will research. If you feel that strongly please PM me or email me at bdemas@londonderry.org and we can talk.
Last year it was held on the same day as one of the blue/grey showcase days and we still had 9 colleges and one professional scout at LHS.
IT IS FREE! Let's continue to promote NH baseball....

The final date will be set by next week (it looks as if it will be the 16th or 17th of June). I have started to contact schools and am getting decent repsonse so far.
I am also garnering quite a bit of interest from high school pitchers. I would like to say that I am taking Varsity-level pitchers first and will look at JV pitchers after that. I know there are a lot of talented JV pitchers out there, and I am sure we can get some in- but please realize that I have to sell this to college coaches and they are really only concerned with Varsity pitchers at this point. Please don't take offense if your son is not selected because of this reason. Again: I am sure we can satisfy some of the JV requests, just not all.
Thank you and I will update the status of this fairly regularly.
Here is the 99% completed list (we are waiting on one kid). We had to make some decisions to cut down the numbers we recieved. One of the requirements was solid player for the Varsity rotation. I know there are a lot of quality JV players, but I can't justify asking a college coach come to a showcase to watch JV's. Put it this way, my own undefeated JV team has a kid who is about 10 K's away from 100 for the year and I didn't include him. So for those who contacted me, my apologies if your son was not selected and please submit them for next year's showcase. This one is already bigger and better (thanks to the involvement of SMAN). Here is the list:
Dan Kinnon (2012) Londonderry
Ryan Moloney (2013) Londonderry
Kyle Turner (2011) Nashua North
Terry Dugdale (2012) Souhegan
Clayton Welch (2012) Manchester West
Ryan Gancarz (2012) Bedford
Brent Edmonds (2011) Winnicunnet
Tom Hudon (2013) Merrimack
Bobby Dow (2013) Spaulding
Joe Maher (2011) Bedford
Dan Peters (2012) Salem
Lucas Olen (2011) Bedford
Jordan Bean (2012) St.Thomas
Kasey Carollo (2012) Londonderry

Schools with confirmed attendance:
UCONN, BC, Northeastern, UMass-Lowell, Franklin Pierce, Hartford, Holy Cross, Keene, Southern Maine, Brandeis, SNHU. We are still waiting on more.

Iron Will,

That is quite the list of pitchers. Many names we've seen discussed throughout the year. I look forward to my son attending (hopefully) in a year or two.

Not that it matters much but Hudon is a sophomore and a 2012.

Be kind of neat to see the results (top speed etc..) afterwards.

Sounds like a great showcase!! hope it keeps getting bigger and better and that we find out that kids are getting a lot of attention or signed from it!
Coach:
My apologies, this got bigger than I anticipated a lot faster than I anticipated. I don't have any more slots left, but perhaps I can send you a "prospect form" and place it in the book we are going to make up for the colleges? That way they will at least have his name? Again, my apologies and I hope this is an acceptable solution for you.
Let me know.
