Hi, Guys, I have been aspiring to get on an American Legion Team.  However, being eighteen, I am having a difficulty finding opportunities to tryout.  In addition to this, I am homeschooled and I am, I guess, forbidden to play high school ball in my district that being Henderson county(KY).  In the year 2012, I did play for Greg Vincent ( Coach of post 9 baseball in Owensboro) who was very good and determined coach.  Unfortunately, I believe he quit and that leaves without a team for 2013.  I was just wondering does anybody no of some opportunities for me to tryout for any particular American legion Team In Evansville, IN

I am a former educator and administrator in Kentucky and only a few years ago, we had a home schooled student that wanted to participate and according to State Law, you are eligible to participate in any school extracurricular activity as long as it is within the school district that you live.  This keeps kids from loading up some schools.  Unless you have had discipline problems and that is the reason you are being home schooled, you should be eligible to play at your normal High School.  I have been retired two years but I don't think this has changed.  Good Luck, and contact KHSAA for more information.  Your local district may give you the run around!
