If Pine Tree and Nacogdoches both win their Tuesday night games (and they SHOULD), it will set up a game for sole possesion of 1st place Friday night at Nacogdoches between both teams.

The other big game Tuesday night will be Kilgore vs. Hallsville. Should be a great game.

Terry is doing fine. He is the Offensive Coordiantor on the football team. Despite his baseball background he says he wants to be an AD and football is the only way to get there in the football mad state of Texas.

I've got nothing but good things to say about him - he always treated my son Brian very well and was a good coach for him - although we sure do like our new coach Steve Marrs.

Katy plays Cinco Ranch. Both 4-0 in 18-5a.

Watten started and battled. De La came in to continue to battle. Bartlotti looked good at times but hit 5 guys, 3 of which scored. Coppel finally got a timely hit with the bases loaded.

We were down 6-1 then exploded for 7 runs in the bottom of the fifth with 2 outs. Got 2 more in the 6th.

Kinard got the win in relief of Burnside.

Also, everyone, it was Hawman's insight that I stole on the 5 hit batsman and 3 of them scoring to be the difference in the game.

OBN -- whu....whu....ummm....uhh....whu happened?

Jackson pitched a good game that is once he got settled in. Walks by both teams played a part in the outcome. Big difference was when we had bases loaded, due to a walks, we couldn't manufactor a run but when NS loaded them up via walks we then walked the first run in.....

Our bats just never showed up..... Pressley and Pitts each allowed 1 earned run and that is all it took......If your not hitting then a team like NS will sneak up and take the Win.

It was one of the longest/slowest games I can remember and to be honest I think even the players seemed affected by the slow play.

One good thing I saw a lot of old baseball buddies, many new to NS, funny how that works out year after year. bless her heart.....

Besides Clare and Shorty being outstanding baseball players, their parents are also great people! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
