Has your son committed to South Alabama? Coach Calvi was a regular attendant at son's HS games/tournaments. When son was deciding between two programs, Coach Calvi helped him to sort out his decision.
TPM,

No, my 2013 isn't quite to the level of quite a few of the 2013's on this site...he has no D1 offers yet. My son met Coach Keller at a showcase and was very impressed and, apparently, Coach Keller was pleased with my 2013RH's performance that day. We will be heading for an unofficial visit next month.

My son would certainly be excited for any opportunity to learn from coaches the caliber of Coach Calvi and Coach Keller. These coaches will get the job done at South Alabama.
That is a head coaching job that many big name assistants wanted. The current staff has a great work ethic. We see them at several places throughout the year. In fact, Bob Keller had to be one of the biggest travelers in college baseball when he was at Michigan. We would see him in the northeast, southeast, midwest, far west, south, north, etc., all in the same year. Great coach, great person.

The program is in good hands with Mark Calvi and this staff. The future looks bright.
Bleacher Dad,

Are you from Iowa? Thanks for the compliment on the league. Over the past 15 years every single kid drafted except one and nearly every player that went to a DI school has played in the league.

That said, there has been lots of discussion lately about leagues during the high school season and/or alternative leagues for kids cut from their HS team. I just want to be clear that the Scout League isn't either one of those. The league is held in the spring and the fall... Iowa is one of very few areas that play their HS season in the summer. So it really isn't an alternative, but it has been very important to a lot of players.
PGStaff,

Yes, QCA. Didn't mean to infer alternative in that sense. Simply meant, an alternative for college coaches to see kids during the Spring and Fall since our HS's play ball during the Summer.

They are great leagues that offer excellent competition during the off season. We are big fans of PG and have enjoyed working with a few of your instructors.

No charge for the commercial! Smile
