I haven't heard of them, but originally thought your post had something to do with USA Baseball's Tournament of Stars, which this most definitely IS NOT. I think their names is a littel misleading and attempts to play off of USA Baseball.

If you're looking for excellent international baseball over the Christmas holidays, you should get in touch with Bob Williams of Goodwill Series. He's been doing it longer than anyone else, and he does it right. You'll find him on these pages under the screen name of "consultant".

Consultant (Bob Williams) is also a sponsor on HSBBW and has a banner ad on the Going Pro forum, maybe elsewhere.

I think there was a similar question last year here, but I haven't been able to find it. A quick internet search on US Baseball Stars didn't help me either. They could be legitimate, just not very high profile. I don't know. It could be more fun oriented than skills oriented.

We went to Santo Domingo about 15 years ago. The people were great but you had to watch your back. The poverty was awful.

We stayed in a resort compound surrounded by military with automatics. Maybe things have drastically improved but I would doubt it. No way I would let any of my family go there without me and even then I would want to know everything from accommodations, food, etc, etc.

I would also guess you could get a all inclusive resort for your whole family for a week for well under $1000. I would not even consider this – somebody is just making a lot of money.

PS: From what I heard, the other side of the Dominican is wonderful but much, much more expensive.
