US Baseball Stars Question

My son did, and I would also like to know if anyone knows anything about them.

I haven't heard of them, but originally thought your post had something to do with USA Baseball's Tournament of Stars, which this most definitely IS NOT. I think their names is a littel misleading and attempts to play off of USA Baseball.

I think there was a similar question last year here, but I haven't been able to find it. A quick internet search on US Baseball Stars didn't help me either. They could be legitimate, just not very high profile. I don't know. It could be more fun oriented than skills oriented.

My son got one also. Thanks Big Red, I had tried to find the cost but had no luck.That was when I knew that I could not afford it! It sounds like a "fun" trip though.

We went to Santo Domingo about 15 years ago. The people were great but you had to watch your back. The poverty was awful.

We stayed in a resort compound surrounded by military with automatics. Maybe things have drastically improved but I would doubt it. No way I would let any of my family go there without me and even then I would want to know everything from accommodations, food, etc, etc.

I would also guess you could get a all inclusive resort for your whole family for a week for well under $1000. I would not even consider this – somebody is just making a lot of money.

PS: From what I heard, the other side of the Dominican is wonderful but much, much more expensive.

Is anyone going?

We just spent a week in Santiago and Puerto Plata. It seemed pretty quiet and relatively safe. No obvious police/military presence. The baseball was outstanding. Somehow we even managed to win three of the seven games!
