hi hs baseball web members,

my son is currently in 14u and plays on a good travel team. he would like to attend the USA baseball junior olympic tournament in Arizona in june. only problem is that his current travel team is not attending. should he try to guest play and if so how would he find a team to go with?

Start with his current travel coach.  Let him know you want to play in that tourney and ask if he can set you up with a friendly club that is attending.

Some clubs are friendly toward one another and some are not.  Guest playing for some clubs may be ok and playing for others may be frowned upon for political reasons.  Best to start with your current club coach.

Good advice from 22&25...

Question - you say he plays on a good travel team... I'd say most good travel programs in Southern California have a standing invite to the AZ JOs and go every year.  Is that the case with your program, and are they taking a year off?  I ask because if they don't typically go then you may want/need to move to a more advanced program as he gets deeper into HS.
