Strangely USA coach Davey Johnson accused the Cuban pitcher of throwing at Nix's head. Davey must have been watching a different game.
To add further tension to the newly enlivened Cold War, Davey made the accusation against the Cuban coach and team in the press conference after the game. Condi Rice will be dispatched to try to quell the simmering tension.
With this poor 1 - 2 start, Team USA is in danger of not qualifying for the medal round.
