Wow, no teams from Houston?

Normally, Houston teams are at the forefront, but I noticed that in the most recent THSBCA poll, there are only 2 Houston 5A teams in the top 10 versus 4 DFW 5A teams.

And the highest ranked Texas team is 4A.

Beast....I remember seeing a guy in a Poteet hat. Wish I'd known it was you, I'd said hello!

I believe that there are about 6 major publications that put out their own list of the top 25 national teams; most of the time it seems that they are hit or miss, although They have CC Moody pegged pretty good they all list them either 4, 5, or 6. I missed going to Round Rock last season; for some reason I thought they had been eliminated by the other CC team; I would have really liked to see these guys on the field.

Congratulations to all those teams, they make the great state of Texas proud! I'm a little surprised West isn't in the top 15, correct me if I'm wrong, but they are undefeated and played great all year long.

It's fun to see local teams in the national polls. We (Plano East) have played many of the top-ranked DFW teams. In my opinion, there is very little difference between PW, Arlington Martin, Coppell, and Rowlett (((we're 2-3 against those teams, having played West twice)). It's interesting that 2 are in region 1 and two in region 2. Perhaps there will be 2 DFW teams in Austin this year.

With no offense to the other top 10 teams -- Mansfield and Keller Central -- the top 4 have set themselves apart in 5A. Both of these teams have wins over East and will be tough in the playoffs.
