Data from the Pfizer trial for a 15 year old, they had a 0.3 % risk of a serious adverse event in the 7 weeks between the 1st dose and 1 month after the 2nd dose. The cumulative rate of hospitalization of 5 to 17 over the last 15 months in the US with the virus is 0.03%. For the sake of argument we'll say everyone of those kids was in for the virus. That puts the risk from a serious adverse event 8.9 times higher from the shot. For a 60 year old the risk was only 0.13 times as large from the shot.
