Has anyone else turned on a random MLB TV broadcast simply to listen to Vin Scully?

Frequently, I find myself surfing the MLB game package for something to watch and then find a Dodger's home game and simply stop flipping.

I don't care who's playing, when, where or how. The guy is amazing. I'm not a Dodger's fan, but if one of my team's isn't playing. I'll stop on a game he's broadcasting. No color guy, just him painting the picture with his classic voice.

When he retires, it'll be a sad day for baseball.

IMO...In a world of quick thrills, false enthusiasm, horrific "Homers", celebrity announcers, former players who have no idea of the the art...

...there is no one like Scully and there never will be again...best stories...best pure voice...Best appropriate level of enthusiasm...best game sense...But best of all the amazing ability to invite you into his world, get you relaxed and settled in and ready to spend some quality time with him for the right, pure, honest and historic baseball reasons...There simply are not enough superlatives.

Only problem is that after a Scully game it is really hard to listen to anyone else...

And all this coming from a lifelong Giants fan..

I know I'm going to be in the minority on this. I lived in LA for twenty years. I can't stand listening to Vin Scully. He talks too much. He adds in too many obscure stats. I swear he knows what the third baseman's sister is doing against lefthanded pitching, under the lights, on turf, in away games, on Wednesday nights in her adult rec softball league.
