Anybody have any new or interesting walkup songs? My son gets to pick his now as a sophomore. He asked my opinion but I don't listen to any stations that play new music. Everything I'd recommend is some type of 90's hip hop or rock. Apparently, that isn't something he is considering.

Drake Nice for What or Meek Mills Uptown Vibe are both good. Also Lil Wayne Uproar. Definitely find the clean versions! These are all a few years old now.

Metallica, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin all have plenty of classic riffs if he's willing to go old school.

I asked the student currently in my classroom for suggestions but didn't get much.

Probably dating myself but can't go wrong with any part of opening riff of Metalica's Enter Sandman.  You get the parents/fans/players participating and the stadium will sound amazing.

If hip hop is his thing, J. Cole's Middle Child is a little mellow but very cool. Esp. if he's a middle child

My '22 has spent far too much time thinking about this. He's down to the Arctic Monkeys/Do I Wanna Know, Metallica/For Whom the Bell Tolls and Beastie Boys/Brass Monkey. Old musical soul, not that I had anything to do with that

I always wanted my son to use Led Zeppelin, Immigrant Song.  He never did. I still think it is an awesome option.

Being at a lot of games the last few weekends, I will say a lot of the guys use songs that were from before they were born...son included.

Funny Immigrant Son is what my son has used in the past. He chose it on his own and I had no idea what he was going to use until I heard it. Most were all hip hop and rap.

I am glad your kid is seeking your advice with this. My kid will only probe me to save it as a punchline or a retort to one my sardonic comments. Anyway to play on this fanatasy, I would tell my kid to go with something mellow because the pressure in the box will already spike you with adrenaline and being amped up messes with the fluidity of the swing and timing.

Cult of Personality is one of my fav walk up songs. I think my son was actually going to use that this year.  Last year he used Number One Spot by Ludacris.

I am big on walk up songs without a lot of lyrics but have that vibe that get you pumped up. The beginning of This is How Do, by The Game, is one I think works well.  The instrumental version of Highest in the Room by Travis Scott is another one I really like.  300 Violin Orchestra is another instrumental song that works. May work a little better for player introductions though.

Downstait makes a couple of good songs that I thought pieces of the song would make for some great walk up music, Kingdom and I Came to Play.

Been to thousands of travel, high school and college baseball games over the years.   Two walk up songs stuck out that I really liked and caught my attention, and thought to myself that is different:

Psycho Killer - Talking Heads

Good Vibrations - Beach Boys

Personally, I'm partial to "When the Levee Breaks" - Led Zeppelin.  It is by far the best drum intro to any song. It is my personal phone ringer.

Good luck!

Since TMM is a starting pitcher, I didn't think he had a walk-up song. I learned the other day he apparently did. He batted .250 with a couple of RBIs back in '19  for the Rockies.

Like smokeminsidesmokeminside I am not familiar with a lot of songs and I Googled Thunderstruck. The following were a few of the first results. I suspect the AC/DC version was his, but he throws a few curveballs and the others might have been possible.

AC/DC

2CELLOS

Steve'n'Seagulls
