WashU is one of the top colleges in the country, and players will need a 30 or better on the ACT. There may be some exceptions here and there, but the HC recently told interested local players the score should "begin with a 3." Excellent coach (Pat Bloom) who led a very successful UW-Stevens Point program in the very solid WIAC, including a national championship (he went to HS with one of my sisters in Tomah, Wisconsin). Plays in the UAA, which has some far-flung conference foes. 2024 has has friends there playing other sports, and they are exceptional students with ACTs comfortably in the 30s. Beautiful campus, too! As for comparing it to Hopkins, it would have to come down to the major being considered. I'd love for my 2024 to play there for Coach Bloom AND earn a WashU degree!!

Does anyone know how Coach Bloom runs this program or anything about the program generally?  I saw that the field was getting re-done which will be very nice.  In comparing to Hopkins, I know Coach Babb carries a larger roster, but Hopkins has a pretty sustained record of success.  Both schools seem to have a pretty strong alumni base and both have pretty strong economics and applied math majors.

Both fantastic universities, you can't go wrong educationally, no matter the major.  Curious that WashU was 34-6 and in the D3 CWS in 2021, and went 12-24 in 2022.  They played a tough schedule.  In 2022 AC Rosen had become the HC at Rose-Hulman, which was 28-13.

They lost a few of their best players, in fact, one of the best MIF's and Pitchers.  Both went to the MLB; the MIF Durbin went in 14th round as  a junior at Wash U.  Durbin also just went from low A to high A with Braves system.  Great Hitter.

Wash U & JHopkins operate similarly with recruiting, both great schools, and solid athletics.  32 has been a floor with the ACT!  Went thru the process with both schools, son chose elsewhere.  Kid I recently mentioned, busted his butt to take the ACT an additional time to move from 31 to 32.
