My 2015 was asked by the coach-recruiting coordinator to attend their camp. He attended the camp and did well. Before he left he talked with the coach and they had a good conversation with a coach follow up for the next week. Is it appropriate to send a follow up email stating observation of campus, facilities and with some academic information that will be needed?

Absolutely! Strike while the iron is hot....and while your son is still remembered. Have your son thank them for their time, etc. Always ask a question that they have to reply to - and keep the conversation going... Good luck!
My 2015 is hesitant because coach said he would contact him later this week. He didn’t want to seem too pushy. I said you are just thanking him for a good camp and what you thought about facility and campus. As background, they are at a point with him where they have seen him play at tournaments, request he attend camp so all coaches can see his skills and have his transcripts. He is hoping for an offer!

The risks of non-action because he's worried about being too pushy outweigh the risks of being considered "pushy." I certainly don't think, in any event, that a follow up email would seem pushy, but, rather woudl send a clear message to the coaching staff that his interest is genuine and worth pursuing.
