It's spelled out in the rules of baseball at mlb.com. (Go to the bottom, pick "Baseball basics" and type "Rule" in the search box.) Scorekeeping is rule 10. Saves is somewhere around 10.20 or so. Those are the "regular" baseball rules, but I don't think fed rules are different in this instance.

Thanks!!!

FED 9.6.7
a..He is the last pitcher in a game won by his team; and
b..he is not the winning pitcher; and
c..he meets at least one of the following:
1..He enters the game with a lead of not more than three runs and pitches at least one inning; or
2..he enters the game regardless of the count on the batter with the potential tying run either on base, at bator on deck; or
3..he pitches effectively for at least three innings.
NOTE: A starting pitcher who is replaced and then re-enters as pitcher can be credited with a win but not a save.
...And from MLB.com:
quote:
SAVES FOR RELIEF PITCHERS
10.20
Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions: (1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and (2) He is not the winning pitcher; and (3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions: (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces); or (c) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.

Looks - just like the fed rule....Except the OBR is cut and pastable online, and the Fed rules aren't.

Which made it quite a chore for a "One-Finger-Wonder".
