There are so many great illustrations, personal experiences, stories to learn from, and just out-right hard-core opinions on the game of baseball, I was just wondering what it takes, and when a thread is moved to the "Golden Threads" forum...is this one that qualifies?

"...the cannons don't thunder, there's nothing to plunder, I'm an over-forty victim of fate..."

Personally I think Golden threads are over valued. Before I get drawn and quartered let me explain. IMHO, when a thread is valued "golden", it devalues other threads that may be just as valuable because because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've always thought that we should promote the advanced search under the "find" tab on this site because it works great. A newby or an old timer can put in a word or phrase and all the posts that match that query will come up and point you to the complete thread. IMO, that tool is much more valuable than any individual poster or any single thread.
