R1 and R2. Batter hits a double scoring R2 and leaving R1 at 3rd and batter at 2nd. Home team appeals R2 missed third base. Appeal goes like this:
F1 steps off and walks over to step on 3rd. I'm assuming F1 gets credit for the put out? If he'd thrown to F5, would he get an assist (1-5)? I usually score the closest player to the bag with a put-out and no assist, but with other runners on base, a bad throw would result in advance, so should you score an assist?
