I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag too soon, but the next coach will be a local man, with no previous college coaching experience, but a lot of baseball knowledge. They will announce me in due time.

To everyone else

Disregard what I wrote above. But since he wants to spread rumors, I gave him a good one. It's not true, but it's a rumor as soon as Sportsfan gets a hold of it.

The position is supposedly only paying in the upper 30's just below 40k.

That's why I took it.

I hear that the gentlemen from Brown and Boston College are in the running ?

It is supposedly said that the College maybe OK with finishing 3rd or 4th this year in baseball.

Where do you dig up this "stuff" ?

I dug nowhere, but was told that and I agree it's a lot of 2nd hand information being passed along, but it's my 2 cents worth.

With no information coming from the school there's going to be rumors.

It seems that with other college openings there have been at least some stories written in local papers. Has there been any? Lastupdate on website is on July 1. No mention of coaching vacancies.

Even though rumors may be annoying to some, at least there is some interest by the public in what happens here.

Does anyone know what the players have been told?

How do you all know I'm not telling the truth? Just because I started this unsubstantiated rumor doesn't mean it couldn't, or didn't, happen.

I emailed Pete Clawson the W&M Sports Information Director and asked when an announcement would be made. His response was that the "process" was near completion and it would be soon. So..........????????????

Who transfered and to where? Is Chad Murray going to go back, that was a great sign, I am from Colorado and he was heavily recruited by some big name schools. Just Curious if anyone knew.

Chris signed and is playing with the Yakima Bears in the Northwest League.

The longer the school officials wait, the much more it will hurt their recruiting. It's now August 14th. This selection must be going to blow the socks off of everyone since it's taking so long to select a new coach.
