Winter camps

What area of New York? Monroe CC and Saint John Fisher College usually combine for a camp during Christmas Break here in Rochester.

I'm in Manhattan.

Don't know how possible it would be to drive the 3-4 hours north every week but Northeastern University in Boston runs one on 6 consecutive Saturdays in Feb-March. Awesome camp.

Notheastern's camp is very good as is Coach Aoki's camps at Boston College. Coach Holowaty at Eastern Ct State runs a holiday camp and a spring training camp that are the best that my guys have been to. Non-stop teaching. Not sure if Coach Leighton will have a winter camp at Manhattan but that would be the closest for you.

The Connecticut Baseball Academy will be holding a college instructional pitching anc hitting camp December 2 & 3, 2006. Current college coaches will be instructing, including coaches from LSU, Boston College, Fairfield, and others to be announced soon.

UConn has a winter camp in December. They also run "Hitting Labs" all winter long.

My nephew may be interested in attending either the CT Baseball Academy Camp (Dec 2-3) or the UCONN Camp (Dec 23). Any opinions/comments as to which camp might be the better choice? Keeping in mind that he will be travelling from a fair distance away.

He is a high school senior looking for some good pitching instruction and exposure.

Having only participated in UConn camps I can't speak for the other. But UConn Coach Penders runs an outstanding camp in the summer, his own coaches plus many from other schools and all divisions. We never made it to a winter camp of theirs though. They are very approachable, nice people, give them a call!
