Schilling,Harnish and Finley all became all-stars and Davis was damaged goods with a bad back as soon as he got to Baltimore.

That's the one I was trying to remember for this thread. What a disappointment Davis turned out to be.

WARNING: NAME DROP ALERT

He used to work out at the same gym as my son in the off-season, probably still does. Jr. said he was nice.

I actually know his folks. They actually still soft toss into a net in the backyard. They speak very highly of him. Smile

Did he ever show up at DPHS to kick it with the boys?

Orlando, as I Giants fan I have to say that is the worst trade of bad trades! Imagine what the Giants would be like if they had Joe Nathan and the other two these last four years. Piersynski was a very bad malignancy for the Giants, perhaps the worst trade the franchise has made in their time in San Francisco.

Now do you know what Giants fans think?
Well, I'm a Giants fan, and I think it looks like a bad trade more in hindsight than it appeared at the time.

Here's a good explanation: MLBtraderumors

My company had about equal numbers of employees in Minneapolis and San Francisco area at the time of the trade. Those who were familiar with Pierzynski predicted that his personality wouldn't fit the Giants. On the other hand, Twins fans weren't very excited with the incoming pitchers, and that the Twins paid cash in addition to Pierzynski.

Did you know how many innings that Joe Nathan pitched in College for Stony Brook? -

- about 2! - He was a shortstop here on LI when he played at Stony Brook U(when it was still D3) so even us locals that would attend a few games didnt get to see him pitch in college!
