Upsets are highlighting the second set of ACC conference series, yet not considered by many as a head snapper, yet.

What has become a two tier baseball conference (i.e. 7-8 NCAA regional caliber baseball teams on top vs 4-5 bottom dwellers) may be ahead of the curve as the lackluster of the ACC Basketball Tournament of old should and could become a top eight team tournament.

Summary: I believe this reflects the effect on all D1's, and the mandate to start the baseball season, together. Which was the last of the D1 sports to do so (after years of objection by the warm-weather schools). The other hidden effect will be keeping the grades up for the warmer schools since having 2-3 ball games mid-week requiring learning new or adjusting to time-management skills, (something the colder weather schools have taught for decades.)

A head snapper could very well be the Demons Fearing the Turtle! Smile

I'm not sure I follow all that, but in the meantime, Duke took 2 of 3 from UVA. So if you meant to say that the former bottom feeders are all making waves, I have to agree.

And the Deacons surely will have to show respect to the turtles. Wake was very fortunate to come away with one victory this weekend, let alone the two they got.

But in the end, they did win two of three! Smile

But we wish Maryland luck in knocking off anyone else they'd like to.
Let's see:

1 & 2. ACC Tiers & Upsets (2nd week of conf play)
ACC Top Tier:
FSU at home sweeps GA Tech.
UNC at home sweeps VA Tech.
UVA loses road series to Duke. (Upset)
Clemson loses home series vs BC. (Upset)
UM wins road series vs NCSt.
------That 2007 Top Tier: 7-8 teams)------------

ACC Bottom Tier:
Wake wins home series over UoM.
Duke wins home series over UVA. (Upset)
BC wins road series over Clemson (Upset)
VaT swept vs NC.
------That the 2007 Bottom Tier: 4-5 teams)-----

3. ACC Baseball Tournament has 8 teams.
ACC Basketball Tournament should go to 8 teams

4. Terps coulda, shoulda for the umpteeth year.

QED

Congrats to FSU head coach Mike Martin career win number 1,500 on Sunday.

Congrats to TU head coach Mike Gottlieb career win number 500 last week.

Try to keep up, rook! Smile
