Mom,

Usually don't like to reply to these type questions. I don't want people to think I'm selling anyone on anything. But in this case, I will try to help.

The World Showcase is a great event with lots of high level MLB scouts. It has a history that includes a very large number of current Major League players. It is held at a time that DI college coaches are not allowed to attend. They still follow what happens there very closely.

That said, Trying to be completely honest, if you can only attend one, you should probably go to the WWBA in Jupiter. No guarantee that things will work out great for your son, but you might be surprised by what happens there.

Note: The team your son would be playing for can be an advantage.

Also, the reason I know this is because each year I've actually been at every one of those events.

Every person that really loves baseball needs to make the trip to Jupiter for this event at least one time. Its hard for me to explain but those have went understand. You don't have to have a son playing. In fact it may be a more enjoyable baseball experience if you do not.

For a player looking for the ultimate baseball experience at this time in their career it does not get any better. The exposure to professional scouts to college coaches is off the charts. The competition is simply the best you will have ever faced, period. The games are intense and the competition is awesome.

I spent a few hours with itsinthegame one year just watching some games. One day soon I want to go back and just take it in and watch games all day all week. For me it does not get any better than this.
Amen...At Jupiter you get to see excellent players in their native element, mostly playing with their own guys, mostly playing to win. You see great pitching match-ups, double digit K outings...on each side with 20 MLB scouts and bunches of coaches watching. It is an unusual event that lasts for several days.

I've been to Jupiter 5 times, and I admit I enjoyed more when son wasn't playing. I have met many HSBBWebsters there as well including that good looking guy who we know here as PGStaff. Wink

Regardless of what event you choose for exposure, especially for unsigned seniors, your son has to be in the best baseball shape he's ever been. Remember at the WWBA there are hundreds of players just like your son trying to get noticed, you have to show your best stuff to catch a coach's or scout's eye.
As an update, he is set to head to Jupiter. He is going to be on a PG team. Hopefully since he is ranked, and as long as he shows his stuff, he can draw some more interest.
Well with all the travel this year, I will admit I have seen more of this beautiful country of ours than I thought I ever would. First trip to Florida and first time flying (unless we drive).

You and 1B are going to have a terrific time. I can only say that baseballson was on a PG team twice and both were unbelieveable experiences. In fact, one of his coaches ended up being TPM's son DK who my son still talks about.

Coach May is correct "it does not get any better". Tell your son to enjoy and get his game ready. Best of luck!
