There is a great passion from the "posters" regarding wood bats.

As you maybe aware, I have organized and promoted many Area Code and Goodwill Series events since 1987, using wood bats.

Yesterday, while watching a High School game in Santa Rosa, a former high school coach is planning his 25th Easter Tournament. He mentioned the recent
tragic injury of Gunnar Sandberg.

I said "why do you not make your tournament this year with wood bats"? It is his tournament and he can make the decision without the school board.

Each of the communicators on this web site have the opportunity to influence local coaches and local organizers of tournaments that are separate from predetermined "metal bat policy".

Goodwill Series is currently planning 6 tournaments this summer using wood bats. This will involve 50 teams.

If you need help or a guideline for "making a difference", please reply. The use of wood bats
can be achieved by teams, tournaments, leagues, associations and your continued support.

Each player, parent, coach, organizer can begin now using a wood bat. Forget the stats.

The end result you will learn to hit. Use wood against teams with metal bats.

Your team will win, if each player is disciplined and focused.

The only wins and loss that really count is "how you played" the game. Can you remember back 2 years ago who won the game. What good are the trophies and medals, if your teammate is in the hospital.

Start now by playing "pepper" with wood bats.
You will learn "bat control", fielding and throwing accuracy.

Bob,

Is SSK going to donate wood bats for all the players?

I saw there is also another tournament that is looking for bats, maybe SSK can "Make a Difference" by also donating bats for them:

Hello;

Salinas Easter Tournament will be using wood bats for all games.

We are looking for donations to supply all of the teams in our tourney with bats. Especially needed are 32 inch bats as they are not easy to find as 32 inch are not made as much.

Tournament begins April 2nd.

If anyone out there would like to help us, please feel free to email me at roar-11-3@rocketmail.com for more details.

In advance, thank you all who might help us out.

For the love of the game;

You sign as from Detroit and the tournament is in Salinas, California.

My history is at MSU. Are you from Michigan?

Goodwill Series Inc. purchases the wood bats from SSK Japan and we use the bats for our teams which travel each year to Australia, GWS California tournaments May 29, July 4 and August 6 and in the USA Baseball Labor Day tournament.
