My 15 year old (just finished 9th grade) didn't make the jv team last year (made first cut, told he was the last kid cut). There were many returning 11th and 10 graders, and six 9th graders made the team. 42 were vying for 20 places. He played spring seniors ball and played in field and out well, with only one strike out, otherwise on base with walks or hits (50/50)(singles, doubles, one hr) (in the game about 75% of the time). Now has failed to make the all star cut of 12 kids from 36 (3 teams) after being told they wanted as many pitchers as possible (again told he was last cut). I am trying to suggest alternative baseball experiences (camps, etc), if he is interested. Any suggestions?
