I know four kids who did 4-2-4. This was when it was necessary to avoid sitting out a year. A couple of other kids transferred, sat out and did five to play four.

1) Started and starred at an SEC program. Hated the South. Went JuCO, then starred at a Big Ten.

2) Didn’t get many innings at an ACC. Went JuCo, then became a starting pitcher at a southern mid major that has since changed conferences and become somewhat of a powerhouse D1 outside the P5.

3) Didn’t get on the field at a Big East (when it was a P6). Went JuCo, hurt his arm, then MAC, hurt his arm again and quit baseball. In three years never played an inning.

4) Fifth infielder at an ACC, got about sixty at bats. Went JuCo and chose a powerhouse southern D2 over some mid majors.
