Baseballmom just posted a couple of pictures of her son fishing in the Gulf just before the hurricane arrived. I won't question his sanity but I do appreciate that there are other things out there other than baseball.

I'd love to see more of your family's interests.

Ours happen to be Disney and zoos. (Nevermind the zoo in our picture will look very familiar to most of you!)

biggerpapi,
so there is no misunderstanding, Pres goes to Tulane in New Orleans, The University ordered an evac beginning on Fri before storm hit. The football team left Fri morning for Tuscaloosa, Ala. Students were shuttled to the airport beginning Thurs afternoon, & continuing thru Sat, 6pm. Any students remaining were bused to Jackson State to wait things out. Son & several teammates from Texas first went to Houston Thurs night, ahead of mandatory evac. On Fri, one decided to go dove hunting with his dad, out of the Austin area. Son & the other "young gun" drove southwest about 2 hr. to Port O'Conner. So, they were all fine.
Beleive me, I was on pins & needles for them till he called me at 1:20am Fri morning from Houston! I grew up in Corpus Christi & remember well the devastation from Hurricane Carla in 1961, as a 5th grader. We evac'd to San Antonio & it was flooding there too!!
Fishing is usually pretty good a few days ahead of these storms. I'm preparing to make a move back down to the coast in a couple of years...maybe even live on a boat! Smile ( yeah, right!) But we do love the water, serenity (most days), sun rise & set over the Gulf is wonderful!
Sorry to hijack...but keep Corpus area (Port O'Conner, Freeport, Rockport) in your prayers. This one is gonna due some damage.

Your kiddos must have had a great time @ Disneyworld!! cute, cute, cute!

ps...decided to put these here.

For relaxation, we play ball. Have 3 sons, 18, 16, and 8. 16 and 8 play football, basketball, and baseball (spring and fall). 18 plays basketball and baseball (spring and fall).
Vacations, camping, everything revolves around ball. But great part is we love it and it family time. Going to and from games. Camping at tournaments.
As I have told others, I know where my kid is most of the time, one field or the other unless he is in the gym.
For my son, after baseball, a close second for the best things in life comes when he performs on a stage with an instrument in hand and a mike nearby. Here's some shots from an August show:

Tristan is on the bass, his cousin Alex is tearing up the guitar:

He's playing bass here and also plays guitar

He loves to sing...and he writes cool songs, too

He's often said that he feels grateful that he has music because he already knows where his life after baseball will lead...

Smile We love Disney, too Smile
