PBR Futures Games Indianapolis

It's a big deal.  And an honor to be invited.  Depending on the state you are from it can be pretty tough to receive an invite.  It can be helpful to communicate ahead of time with colleges you are interested in and let them know you are going to be there and keep them advised of your schedule. 

Easily the most scouted event held in the Midwest.  It draws coaches from ALOT of the big time programs.....including SEC schools. 

thanks guys...word on the street here in Oklahoma is that almost every player on the team received interest from the SEC and/or Big XII schools...

We are supposed to be there too.  Hoping its a good event.

Been at this with three kids over 15 years.  Most scouted event we've ever been to including wwba.  There are more scouts at WWBA but not in one location.  All of the games are played in a four field complex with one field used for batting practice the whole time.  There are never more than 2 fields going at any time so scouts can see every game.  There was a scout or two from every major D1 team east of the Mississippi and most of the Midwest.  The good part is they are all there in one place.  The competition is good but it is a showcase setting so every pitcher only throws one inning, maybe two.  My youngest son was blessed to go twice and was told ahead of time when he was pitching.  They also let him hit in every game.  I have encouraged everyone who can go to go.  Almost every player who went who should have gotten an offer did after this event.  It is the end of the sophomore year so prime recruiting time.

Just know that it is one inning as a pitcher so bring it quickly.  My son only threw about 9 pitches last year even though he had many coaches watch him warm up.  Not complaining.  He struck out 2 on 3 pitches each, a hit against a good friend, and a flyout.

We are as well. Which state?

My wife took my son but I heard it was a great experience and I echo what was said above. A few out of state schools which had been following my son watched him showcase and play games there with offers made that Friday (it ended on Saturday) and the following Monday (too late!). Son's teammate (at Futures and on his Summer travel team) got a ton of interest and several offers from out of state schools from that event alone. He was not getting many looks locally before then.  I'm a fan.

Drove 13 hours each way for my son to pitch two innings but the experience was well worth it.  The number of schools and top programs was impressive.  Realistically, those schools were out of our reach, but my son really enjoyed it and I think it gave him a tremendous amount of confidence in each outing since.
