Players name added in plays he was not a part of

On Gamechanger can anyone tell me what it means when it says "In Progress: Players Name" when you are in the field? Especially if the player named was not a part of that out at all and is not up to bat anytime soon in the next inning? Our coach keeps adding the same player's name at the end of the inning this way. He is also listing his name in defensive plays that he was not a part of. I am curious why this would occur. Any ideas?

That refers to the batter, or the next batter after a side has been retired. No idea why a player's name would pop up out of order unless the scorekeeper had used it as a placeholder.
