Scrimmages?

Agreed. Final reflected that Madison is stocked w/ a lot of talent and has been practicing on only turf field in NOVA. Herndon's bats were largely silenced over first 8 innings by great pitching from Eckert ('15), Favero ('16), Nielsen ('16) and McGuire ('15).  By contrast, after Seitz ('16) w/ 2 innings (4Ks,1 ER), Herndon's pitchers didn't fare as well.  

Chantilly - 11 @ Marshall - 2 tonight.

OHS @ WSHS postponed and postponed. Could be Tuesday, 3/17

LB @ OHS postponed from last week to potentially Wednesday, 3/18

 

Issue: spongy fields everywhere. Rain over the weekend took the fields back to square 1.

 

I have no idea as to how Madison and Herndon got their scrimmage in (unless it was at Waters Field). Ditto Chantilly and Marshall.

 

Hayfield and West Potomac got in 2.5 innings at the ironically-named Water Field in the rain on Satruday morning. Pooling water and the dirt mound being atrocious led the umpires to cancel the scrimmage for safety reasons. I doubt the field could have been playable at least until Sunday.

Definitely postponed, and will attempt to get it in tomorrow.

I had my doubts as well but apparently Marshall's field drains much better than ours.

Looks like Lake Braddock @ Madison is now underway.

LB wins 5-4.

Have to love having Waters Field at your disposal.

I realize that this is a "Scrimmage" thread...

 

BUT, the reg season did start today!  Was LB/Madison a scrimmage or 1st real game of the season?????

Listed as an exhibition game and they played 10 innings.

The game between LB and Madison was just a scrimmage. Typically every year Madison scrimmages Herndon and than LB or Westfield prior to the season starting. I'm curious as to who pitched for both sides.

Not sure about LB but Madison got two innings each from Matt Favero, Brian Eckert, & David McGuire & 1 inning each from Pete Nielsen, Noz Honda, Daniel Gerke, & Matt Prillaman.

For the LB side of things, Iit was Andy Shreves, Wade Strain (2 innings), Ryan Mullins (1 2/3), Kevin Haswell (1 1/3), Matt Supko, Peyton Bishop, and Ethan Rolland (2 innings  I think).
