Value of different PG events

free=good ·
Would like opinions on the value of the different PG events. My 2019 is scheduled to play several PG events this summer (listed below) but I'm wondering how valuable these events are in terms of exposure. Is he better off doing a showcase or will these events generate interest in him from coaches? Generally speaking he wants to play his college ball in the state of Texas so playing at Tx State, U of Houston, TCU and Sam Houston (plus a non-PG Baylor event) seems to make sense to me but are...

BIGGER THAN ME!

A couple weeks back someone posted a link to a presser for coach Matt Deggs of Sam Houston State. I thought it was inspirational and would love for him to come speak at my son's school. it's been gnawing at me for a while, so this morning I finally emailed him and asked him to come speak. Today at lunch I was talking with another fellow about my e-mail and he said he was going to have a conference call with coach Deggs THIS AFTERNOON! and that he would bring up the speaking opportunity! what...

I love PG...son attended several, but 1-2 Texas event would suffice. Son attended 1 @ Baylor summer of freshman year. That opened doors to WWBA in Fla that fall & other PG showcase events, including National's. Most, if not all the Texas Univ/College Coaches have good relationships with PG...and word about a player travels fast. Check to make sure the events you listed do not conflict with events in Fla & Arizona, or if specific Coaches are attending which events...There is also an...

I have a 2017 grad and I would say from experience around Southern California (which I presume is similar for other areas with tons of talent like Texas and Florida) that it is more important for the younger players to focus more on getting on a strong travel ball team during the Summer after Freshman year than worrying about showcases to college coaches. The real benefit that Summer after Freshman year is to confirm whether or not the player can legitimately play at a Varsity level in his...

All one has to do is look at my 2016s PG profile to know that our family has extensive experience with PG events. Been to almost every event in TX from PG Super 25, South Texas Qualifier, etc. and most of them multiple times. About 20 events in total. I never found the on campus events to be that great of exposure to anyone other than that school. I did see the UT RC at a TX State event because they were recruiting son's team's CF really hard at that point. Also saw the TCU PC at A&M...

Independent of the specific PG showcases you mention, can you describe your player? Position, size, any pitching velocities measured? It would be easier for our members to chime in... Thanks.

Bandera, that is awesome. Glad you are going for it. I saw Coach Deggs' video. It was terrific. P.S. -- Here's the Inky Johnson thread if anyone is interested: http://community.hsbaseballweb...son-impose-your-will
