Re: Hit Every Day??

Prime9 ·
BOF .... you get my drift. Hitting every day wasn't meant to be literal. Training to hit a baseball, like any other physical training, should be different enough to challenge and prevent boredom. Can H.S. kids really hit everyday? Heck no, they are so heavily scheduled. Can College and pro-players hit everyday (my intended group)? Yea, if they want to! Sometimes you need a break, mental or physical from training for whatever the reason. Take It!! But my body clock was set at no more than...

You say you haven't pitched in over a year ? What is your pre season regimine like ? Are you ready to pitch or just a weekend warrior. I agree with most of coachric's comments. There are too many unknowns in your story. You should shut it down as you had previous elbow issues and get medical help. Too many people ready to hang the coach without some crucial information.

Visualization is a great technique that I use. Going over POSITIVE situations in your head helps you focus on doing things correctly. If you focus on what you are doing wrong, you tend to act that way. See yourself hitting the ball wherever you want it: right center/left center. See yourself throwing a hard strike right to the catcher's mitt, and these things tend to translate into your performance. It helps to do these at night, when you are relaxing before bed time. There are many more...

Agree with the warrior on Kellam, Fc, in that order, but think that PA will be in the mix with Cox and OL. After that, there may be a win or two with the bottom. But remember, this wonderful district takes 8 of 11 to the tournament. It would be alot more interesting if it were only 6. ODU baseball, not sure who you are, but Druz is still my favorite infielder of all time. Perhaps just because he continues to support the program. Are you a parent of a new player at FC?

Warrior I did meet Austin, you have a very nice son and very good sized player. I introduced myself and told him I had emailed you thru this web-site. It was fun to see Austin, Tim and Mike hitting at Shipley after the kids camp ended. Only problem was I had to shag balls. They did hit some bombs into the football practice field while the team was ruuning sprints - I am sure they made some friends on the football team. Could be an interesting year, if the kids perform they may have a chance...

Re: catcher x-mas gifts

Senior son got one of these and thought it rather cool. You know, you can always pick out the catcher by the guy carrying the huge bag (or dragging it) behind him. This backpack allowed him to carry all his stuff on his back. He even said a couple times it reminded him of being a soldier or warrior with all the attachments. He fit his batting helmet, catching helmet and glove in the inside pocket. Might be something to consider. Catcher's Gear Locker Backpack If I think of any more I will...

Re: Warrior Classic

It was a great tournament with many top tier ball teams. The format of the Warrior Classic is very unique. Four pools of 8 teams each. Each club plays four games in pool play -- BUT, you never actually play anyone in your own pool. To win your pool, you must have the best record in your pool against competition outside of your pool. Clear? The tournament sponsors are also careful to see that you never actually play any team that you would normally play during your regular season. It makes...

Re: Bat weight and length

The sweet spot is larger on a longer bat.... Gennerally, most of the high end bats lyk the Air Warrior or Liquidmetal2, are very well blanced(especially precision balanced rawlings bats). With bats like these, you should go up anohter in because it will give about the same bat speed as a cheaper bat in a smaller size. With a larger sweet spot, more plate coverage, equal bats speed(maybe a little less), to me its a no brainer. I also like what Piia_ump said too.

Of the 4 all District players who were eligible for all region player of the year 3 of them shared the honor. The one left off was Colton Gunn. Might as well have put him on as well, right? Word on the street is that the collision he had with his 3rd basemen in the Cosby game during the regional semis at the Diamond actually broke his jaw. That means he went on to pitch the remaining 3 or 4 innings in that game with a freaking broken jaw. If memory serves he also doubled later and went...

I watched this game tonight, as it was played at our field, and was very impressed by both teams. Both kids on the bump were strong. Crazy that there were so many scouts here for a 16u game. The homerun hit by the Tiger first baseman off the the lefty from DBAT was impressive. DBAT had a chance to make it interesting as it threatened in the 7th getting two on base. Noah Lee had a great game at the plate with 3 RBI. Last time I saw him at Warrior Field he was hitting a homer to beat us. Not...

He has never been a workout warrior. But he was dedicated to improving his game. Plenty of hours taking extra BP, infield and such. He has always been a solid kid in his upper body. He just looks flabby around the arms and shoulders. I don't think you realize how weak you get in such a short period of time. Berry Some of the debates were about young ball players making college commitments. This thread is simply talking about youngsters that are really good. Much different. I don't know the Butts kid, but I have to agree with Warrior on Reid Leonard. He is very polished. Plays the game very well. Hangs with kids much older then him. If I had to bet, I'd say he will be in the starting lineup (possibly at short) for BHS to start the season. You may remember DSF had a freshman at short last year.
