Catcher Bryan Roberts from Benet is making an impact behind the plate with his defense and arm, also is hitting pretty darn good, but nothing like Beckman who I hear is hitting over 700? Lefty Pitcher from Oak Park named Goltz is very impressive.

Soph Nick Brown from Wheaton Warrenville South pitched 5 innings vs. Batavia allowing 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 10. He also had a 2 run HR.

Yes, Nick Brown was absolutely dominating in his win against us. He can bring heat and has a very nice off speed. It must be said though, that Alex went 2-3 off him with a leadoff double to start the game.

Another Beckmann update....
He had another banner day at the Dog House going 3-4 with another 2-run homer. His average is now right around the .700 mark. I think you would be hard pressed to find a kid that has more talent and knowledge of the game at such a young age.

Darn it all--I hate the term PHENOM

David Baskin of Evanston High School is hitting close to .400 and is extremely valuable because he can play all nine postitions well. Zach Morton is also having a nice year as the no.2 pitcher and shortshop.
Both of them are playing for Top Tier/Humble Park this summer.

He will be their #1 through the playoff run. I don't think that he has lost a game since they called him up at after a week and half with the sophomore team.

3-1 with a 1.20 ERA.

Brother Rice Had a Few Sophs up Pitchers Ryan Wischover and Sean O'Reilly who have won some big games. Others are Tom Hickey firstbasemen Doug Schumacher Outfielder and Mike McQuillan Infielder.

Saw on another board that Herscher has a sophomore Zak Stetson that is hitting around .450 from the lead off spot.

One of the best 08's I saw this year and I ahve not seen him mentioned is Austin Wright from Cnant high school. Hard throwing lefty with 3 pitches, big strong kid with very good presence on the hill. Just thought of him as I was told he just hit 90 on the gun last week at a camp, showcase. I was not there but I have seen him pitch and he does throw hard. One of the best lefties I saw all year. Sorry if I posted this twice it looked like the first one was lost in cyber space.

Been, Like I said that is what I was told from a showcase. Regardless I have seen him throw and he does bring it, one of the best lefties I saw all year. Sorry if it has not been heard all over the world or even in the south suburbs but this kid can throw, no let me correct that he can pitch.

I've heard great things about Austin Wright also. I believe he is playing travel ball for the McHenry Hurricanes. If so, I'll probably see him this summer. I think the 'Canes and Top Tier 17U team are in 1 or 2 of the same tournaments.

Been, don't think I saw 90 but he is a real good one with good size and feel for a few pitches. I really liked him! But then again I have a soft spot in my heart for the lefty.
