Congrats to OL, Schedule worked in their favor this year. They are a solid team, Sean probably player of the year. But to say they are defintely the best in the beach is a stretch. They are the only team with an above 500 record to get 10 run'd this year, 13 to 3 to Cox, who FC beat twice. I know OL beat FC, too bad each team didn't play each other 2 times.
It tells us that maybe FC didn't play it's best line-up during spring break. The coaching staff used the spring games to allow the players that don't always get to play some playing time. Many of the younger players played.

It would be great to see an FC vs. OL rematch in the finals with both teams actually playing all their best teams (not saving players for regionals) but this probably will not happen due to the regionals starting right after districts....maybe in the regional finals? WB, IR and/or Grassfield may have something to say about that....they all look really strong.
Any given day, is what it is called. Shawn had one of his worst outings of the year and the team fell apart. It happpens to everyone. Cox lost twice to FC, and FC lost another game to someone who didn't even finish close to the top three. It is all speculation. Thats why they play a whole season, not just three games. OL won all their games but one, Cox and FC won all but two. Which means in the district OL was better. It's funny how when like OL wins the regular season and COx, FC, Kellam or PA doesn't, there is always speculation. I heard all the same c*** when we won the Tournament and when FC won the Tournament last year. That Cox didn't play its best in the final. Stuff like that. Give a team some credit and quit getting on here saying "it's a stretch" that they are the best, they obviously proved that they are the best by winning the most of their games. But everyone is entitled to thei opinion.

Good luck to all teams today in the Tournament!
The schedule does have an impact on the standings. Every coach needs to send a winning team to the field each game. Obviously, that coach was the OL coach.
Now, how about everyone get off this site and head to Landstown High School to support each team that is playing today. Then show up on Tuesday and Thursday regardless of where your team finishes. After that, drive to the "Bud" and support both beach teams that are playing.
Let's all show the Beach teams support. Let's not have a bunch of parents hiding down the fence to smoke a cig and then expect their kid to follow rules!
I agree with Yankee, lets all go to Landstown and support the tournament, and RedBird, you of all people know not to use spring break games as a measure of a team"s abilities, lol. My point was too bad that each team didnt play each other twice. it was obvious that 3 teams were maybe a little better this year, and they those 3 teams didnt get the chance to play twice. It is what it is and I know OL will make a great showing in the regionals.

I'm basing my comments on the 3 FC games I've seen. I referenced the Hickory game because it wasn't even close. It was a blowout to a team that finished 5th in the SED. The main FC starters were playing, it wasn't wholesale substitution. I didn't see OL have an off game all year. So...in my mind, they were easily the class of the district.
