Just curious had a HS players at a showcase recently who said he pitched 11 complete games or 77 innings this year. is this unusual. The player also played short when he was not pitching.

Not unusual at all. A lot of HS teams have very limited pitching. Pitching once/week for a complete game would do it. Most seasons are at least 12 weeks long, some as long as 14-15.
