Hi there, my name is Carlos Gonzalez and I live in Orlando, Florida. I first started pitching just one this last season (Spring 2010), and I really want to set my mind on this. I cannot learn all the fundamentals, and techniques to pitching by myself. I've tried sites to learn pitching grips, and youtube videos, but nothing works. So I need a pitching coach to help me acheive my dream of playing HS baseball, playing at a Perfect Game Showcase, receiving a college scholarship, and finally getting to the show. I am a very dedicated kid, and I am a team player. I also set my mind to anything, and I can acheive it.

Please PM me if interested.

Thanks, Carlos.

You may want to ask this in the pitching forum.

I'm going to assume you are talking about lessons. Lessons can be very expensive so make sure you discuss this with your folks. My son is a 13 year old pitcher and one on one instruction is not cheap. I've never complained about it, what he has learned I think will help him hopefully through to college but not everyone's family is lucky enough to have a decent job with enough extra cash to afford a couple hundred dollars a month for lessons.

If you are going for lessons check the credentials of the person you are interested in. Just playing baseball and pitching at the professional level isn't enough. The person may know a lot about pitching but that doesn't always translate into a good teaching experience.

As for finding someone; I don't think Orlando would be too hard. A quick google search or going on craigslist should get some candidates for you. Check references and how long they have been doing what they do. When you get a lesson from them make sure you let them know what you think you know and what you don't know well. Pitching requires balance, flexibility and mechanics to work perfectly and a good instructor will work on all components but most of the time not all at once.

After the lesson discuss the lesson with your folks. If you have trouble digesting what the teacher is telling you or if it is too advanced or too simplistic for you let them know. If the guy simply is overwhelming you also let them know. As I said I've known some fantastic ballplayers that can't teach worth a darn.

Good luck with your search.
