K13, that McHenry Hurricanes team last year really struggled. I seen them play in Lynwood in a tournament game, and they got beat really bad. Maybe they were missing some players that weekend, but they lost many games last year by lopsided scores. The Crystal Lake Bombers might have even been a better team than McHenry last year at the 14u level.
The most important factor when talking about McHenry is not about whether they took it on the chin last year or how competitive they were perceived to be or not to be , but rather the focus should be on how good of a coach that Dave Mottashed is.

He is an excellent teacher of the game ( something that is still required at this level ) and his priorities are always in the right place .
rebel222,

We get it already! You weren't impressed with the Hurricanes last year. They are a solid organization with solid coaches--and, unlike some, they still care about teaching the game--not JUST winning. We play against them every year--they are usually very solid. And, we look forward to their tournament at CLS this year--it was solid last year. I wish them luck this season--except when we play them--then I only wish them good health. Wink
