Not many "top notch" tournamnets available for 15U's. Mostof the big tournies combine the 15/16'sinto a sort of JV grouping. The best 15U eventis PG World Wood Bat in Atlanta. We did it as a 15U team last year and it was by far the best event we played in. We also played in several Pastime Events where they kind of grouped the 15's together in pool play and then they'd play the 16's in elimination play. Pastime doews have a few 15U only events and may havesome as close as Oklahoma. Pastime does a good job, however some of their lesser events are actually run by local organizations where the events are held and our experience was that they weren't as good as the ones that the Pastime staff run. These are typically a little cheaper too. You can also do the USSSA and/or Super Series type events but you will run into lower level travel teams and rec teams in those events...
OA5II,

I am the president of the McHenry County Youth Sports Association (MCYSA)located in Crystal Lake, Illinois. We currently run the MCYSA/USSSA International Championships for 15U and prior to that we hosted the caba 15U world series for 15 years. This is our 18th Annual International Championship. Our website is www.MCYSASports.org. Please go to the website and you will see a ton of infomation ablout who we are and what we have done here for the past 18 years. The dates of the 2011 event are also posted.

There is a list of "Look Who is Coming" for 2010. International include: Japan (16th year), Brazil, Puerto Rico, the Dominican, Venezuela, Panama, Russia, New Zealand and others. We are constantly recruiting international organizations for the event.

It is a 7 game guarantee (5 in pool play and seperate double-elim tournaments for Gold and Silver brackets). All games are played to completion (no time limits). We pride ourselves on running a first-class event. The cost in 2010 is $795.00 and there are no other mandatory charges (ie. gate charges per player or team). We have pre-tournament skills competitions, team banquet, opening ceremonies, off-day major league trip, etc.

In 2010 we have expanded to 15U event from 48 to 54 teams. We are currently filled. You can contact either Ted Groat or me fro m our website.

Best regards,
Jack Sebests, President MCYSA
