15U Travel

Try the Crystal Lake travel teams...Not sure which one is the most competitive. All are good.

If your going to look into Crystal Lake, the McHenry County Hurricanes are usually the most competative. I believe this year they had some kids brought up to play in CABA so there are some good ball players there.

The long time programs in Crystal Lake that have 15U teams, that I am familar with, are the Travelers (soon to be Cardinals, I believe), Cyclones and Bombers.

These programs are currently holding tryouts so I would urge you to investigate each one and find the one that best fits your needs.

My son has been assisting with the Travelers tryouts (this past weekend started the tryouts for the 13U and 14U teams), so I know the Travelers 15U tryouts are on August 26th and 27th at Crystal Lake Central High School. The Bombers will be holding their 15U tryouts on August 20th at Lippold park. You can find out more information about the Bombers program at the Bombers Website.

Information for the Cyclones is a little harder to find. The Cyclones 15U team contact information can be found at Cyclones 15U Website. I didn't see much other information other than the contact page. This website will probably be the Future All Ages Cyclones Website. Right now, it appears to be the 13U website. It's usually a pretty good program, so I don't understand why their website is kind of cheesy. Anyway, I would urge you to contact the person listed on the 15U contact page. If that doesn't work, let me know and I can make some calls to get you in contact with the right person.

What is most important is for you to find the right program for YOU! Happy hunting and good luck!!!

I'm sure all those programs are solid, but aren't really very close to those towns especially Geneva and St. Charles. I'd talk to the people at Fox Valley Sports Academy in Elgin....they may be able to give you some contacts, a lot of teams work out there.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I am thinking Crystal Lake and McHenry County are a little far esp. since I will not be able to drive yet. I did inquire at the Fox Valley Academy and they referred me to the White Sox Academy. From what I've read, there are some mixed opinions on this site regarding them (esp. re Fall League). They also start practicing 3 times a week in November at their Lisle location...not sure I can swing that.

If your going to play with the White Sox Academy be prepared to pay a lot of money.

There must be some teams in the Aurora area.

I can think of the GABA team for one .

I used to play against a few teams from Aurora, and GABA was probably the best. Other teams Aurora A's, Aurora Rockets or Comets something like that.

A traveling program out of Elgin is the Rippers but I don't know much else. Here is a link to the Elgin Rippers Baseball website.
